The new system

Post by Jonxmartini »

I don't no if there has already been a post about this if there was I'm sorry i must have missed it. There is no more monthly cost in points to keep a free hosting account but we have to have a certain amount of activity percentage. I for one don't have the slightest idea how to determine my activity percentage. So i was wondering if someone could right a quick how to on the new activity bar and longevity bar?

i didnt know that. i thought it was simply there is no more monthly fee for hosting.... having nothing to do with longevity or whatnot.

You can refer to http://www.smokyhosts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3280 for all such details.

Basically to recieve 1% of activity, you need to make atleast 2points every 30 days (month). You may now calculate the remaining activity percentages on your own relative to the above detail. You can check the activity details on every post that you make, or even in your profile area.

The longevity bar just shows relative to my registering date (the 17th of December 2004) how long have you been a member of smokyhosts.com forums.

So 2 points per every 30 days? So if someone was to earn like 30 each month they would have about 15% activity on the forums?

I like it but does it have anything to do with your Longevity as to how much you post and such?

I want to keep my hosting so I have to be sure how this would work out and everything.

Guess you've got it completely confused....

It's not 2 points per 30 days, but 2% activity everyday (your activity is calculated on a daily basis).

Longevity is just an addon to show what percentage of the age of the board you have been a member of.

Ooooooh I see, so the ammount of time compared to the ammount of posts being posted or have been post have nothing to do with each other.

I think I have it now... nothing has anything to do with actual number of posts being posted. If you post 2 in 1 day you have an activity of 100% for that day but since 60 posts are spread out over 30 days you would only for a 2% activity level have to post a maximum of 6 posts spread out to 2 posts for 3 days making 6 in an entire month. Wow... that's not bad... 6 posts spread over 3 days for 10% activity... yall are getting a bargain there lol. We all are. If I am correct.

Keeps people from spamming up 600 points in one month and never logging on again for 2 - 3 years.. :D.
