Quick question

Post by zerox »

Greetz

okay under the info for hosting it says --> control panel - directadmin.

Does this mean every time we want somthing changed we ask you.

Do you provide Cpanel to the free hosting?

Do you allow other methods of backing up MySQL database other than phpmyadmin, reason is that i cant not back up with muphpadmin and restore with it as some times the data base is over 2.4 meg and it times out. Some say that SSH is the best way to back up 3+ meg database's.

DirectAdmin is smth like CPanel, net exactly cpanel, but your host control system

You can restore your MYSQL db using specified system, like, backup few tables from your server, and upload to new, and then, second part of tables.... In other words, backup your db not at once, but by splitting your db into parts

yeah i know how to split save it and that but its much more convenient to do it with one app and at one time rather than spending allot of time saving each table in the database.

Direct admin provides a backup and restore facility, but as said for databasses only upto 2MB.i.e.2048KB.

If you want other tools for backing up and restoring your databasses, you can find many tools at hotscripts.com which are free and very good onse. You can just install them and enjoy doing things in an easier manner.

Although i do provide SSH access to free accounts but personally i feel unless someone is thorough with SSH, they better not attempt using it otherwise they may landup destroying all the data in their account. Even a small mistake in SSH is unreversible and at times undectable as it doesnt maintain any kind of user log. So please avoid using it unless you are thorough with it and are daring to risk your data.
