300 is a story of 300 spartians fighting against a million persians.
A movie inspired from the graphic novel by Frank miller.
ITs a very powerful and graphic movie. If you people liked movies likes King Arthur, Troy and Lord of the rings. Than this is a must movie for you.

This movie is just AMAZING. There are no words for it; you just have to see it!
The effects, the artwork, the principles, the acting, the story. (I think it IS historically accurate, this movie is based on the Battle of Thermophylae ("Hot Gates"). You can learn about it in your history class.
I'm not endorsing war and death, but the movie really makes you think: about human lives sacrificed, about the way we view our nation and the way we choose to preserve its existence through war, the value we place on freedom and integrity, the image of a "beautiful death" upon living a fulfilled life -- which for the Greeks meant being true to and excelling in their duty or state in life.
I did however read some criticism about it, in terms of portraying the Persians in a bad light. The movie DOES sound kind of "racist," but it's fiction and entertainment, people. It's reworked history. Not everything should be taken literally. Go see the debates / issues presented at Wikipedia:

Read it all the way through; it's all so very interesting!

As much as I enjoy Gerard Butler semi-****, please don't take 300 as anything BUT a fictional account of this event. Frank Miller, the man who created the graphic novel that this movie is based on, has stated that the story was adapted and changed for dramatic effect.
