Anybody got tips for making an fps?

i suggest using one of the quake engines here are some links to good modified quake engines for fps games

Quake 1:

-Dark Places: http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/

Quake 2:

-Quake 2 Evolved: http://www.quake2evolved.org (per pixel lighting version in general discussion of forums)
-Revenant 1 qfusion engine: http://sourceforge.net/projects/revenant (by me)

Quake 3:

-Revenant 2 engine: http://sourceforge.net/projects/revenant (only nofx version for now)
-Revenant 3 engine: coming soon

Well, here are some major things:

awsome weapons
good story
gore
some points of mindless violence
NO ZOMBIES!!!!!!
vehicles
good maps
entertainment

NO ZOMBIES!! PLZ! ARGGHHH! IF I SEE ANOTHER GAME WITH ZOMBIES (besides RE) I'M GOING TO GO INSANE!

If you have C++ expertise and a good physics engine, i suggest putting a grav-gun type thing in.

Just don't go for the serious sam approach >.<

It stands for First Person Shooter... haha.. nOOb.. actually not jk lol. Its all good. You know what MMORPG stands for too?

I'd say one of the best tips is to start very small and work your way to something larger.

Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game and just as a P.S ... runescape SUCKS
