try chnaging da tpe of da file, dat usually helps in images!!

yeah change it to jpeg compressed, if you don't know how to do this, fallaw these steps:

1-open the file with a gfx program like photoshop or image ready, Fireworks.....
2-go File---->export image, the type anyname youwant with the following extansion .jpg example: darko.jpg

I think there is an animated PNG, or maybe that is just a rumor. You could try flash too, that would really reduce and ainimation.

PNG is the best format and it compress a file to a good extent.

I have been using it and believe me its many a times better than gif and jpeg.

Open the file in a photo designing program (Photoshop for example) - reduce the resolution.

Normally a good camera will take photos at 300ppi but for normal users when print the photos 150ppi is enough for a good quality.

Also for websites, a 800x600px picture is ok, u dont need more than that except for wallpapers.

Finally as the pp above have said - JPEG is the best format. Some camera do the RAW format and it would take about 10Mb/pic on average. But with the same pic, if you save in JPEG format it only takes 2 or 3Mb - further more if you reduce the size and resolution as I said it'll be only 500kb, 300kb ^_^

I thought PNG files are usually bigger than GIF files? The quality of PNG is better than GIF but the size also increases with the quality.
