Hi, im currently thinking about all the elements it takes to make a very nice looking site. I have very little actual hard knowledge about web coding and i have some questions that i know some people here can answer for me. First off, I know a little basic HTML... where should I go next? what's the easiest way to make a nice looking site with image maps and whatnot, embedded sound/video, maybe dropdown menus and all that jazz, im not really talking flash, but if there is a good efficient way to make it w/o learning too too much ( i am absolutely willing to learn more languages, i just dont know which ones i should focus on ) I know basic C++ so if this helps anywhere, that info would be much appreciated as well. So basically, what should i use, and where can i get the resources- free of course. I got HTML-kit and i like the interface, i just need to know what language(s) i should be focusing on and to what extent and where would be the best place to get the info. Thanks anybody and everybody checking this out and replying. Later.

Newbie - plz help me
ok- i get needing photoshop skills, lets say i already have a template and im ready to code it, what would be the most practical way? xhtml? and where can i find the best tutorials for these types of things? also, what should i use for an editor? html-kit is what i have now. are there good sites with lots of free snippets for these types of things, but im still gonna need tutorials, so i guess that's what the question is now.
thanks for the replies.

As an editor client, there are 2 most common editor 1st one is FrontPage and the 2nd one is Dreamweaver
in my oponion if you start with editing/modifing javascript codes that could be good way to start of
also you can find lots of javascript codes around the net and its programing language will be really easy to understand for you if you have some skills in programing
good luck
