Q: Change the content of a page without reloading it!

Well...
Can we do it without having a database and without using frames?
I mean my site is an online radio station, so when the audiences **** on any links I just dont want the player stop and they have to reload it again. I just want the player to keep playing and a part of the website changes its contents only.
I'm thinking about to make my website with flashes but can we control one flash by another one? What is the code for that?
Somebody help??
