Sim City 4

I recently aquired Sim City 4 for PC, and I'm having some trouble playing the game. It is so hard (although i like a challenge, but this is outrageous!). Can somebody please help me?!

I've noticed that all of the games are hard to play. Whatever I do, I'm always losing money, or I'm gaining a lot of money from deals with other towns, but am losing residents because of pollution and stuff like that. Ridiculous isn't it?

Thanks for the link, it was quite helpful
Is there a way we can change the setting, like from hard to moderate or something like that, because I've had no luck finding any setting like that.
