Here in the UK I have a 2Mbps download speed ADSL line with unlimited downloads for £17.99 (use Google to change into your currency)
In this country practically all ADSL connections have a 256Kbps upload speed (me included).

Problem is that in practice when I do online speed tests I only get about 1.1Mbps download.

100.0Mbps is amazing. I don't know which country your from or how much you pay but that is pretty fast when you consider a lot of people are still on dialup (=0.05Mbps very roughly) or broadband rated between 128-512Kbps (=0.1 - 0.5Mbps).

Other people are on 2Mbps or 8Mbps, but in this country most people can't yet get these speeds or else it is prohibitively expensive

Oh well it was the cheapest DSL... In the U.S. about I think $15 a month or something... kind of good.

i live in turkey and $15 a month but just only 512 kb...very expensive as it is very slow...
