Well it depends upon the requirement, when I need to desings some amimation, I use flash, for ordinary or simple graphics I use PS CS3 and to compress the size of the picture without loosing the pixels, I use Dream Weaver Fireworks...

i for one use CS3 for the heavy editing and creating stuff and use firewoks for the fast resize/crop/improve color stuff

Gimp is free, and fast if I want to speed up my editing jobs..
Photoshop is slow, but alot of options.
I use PhotoMatix for HDR making photos.
Different program for different jobs.. lol

i'm using photoshop cs 3 atm, for advanced editing stuff, but mainly...i use MS paint for quick edits(enlarge, crops, screenshot..)

I've seen some very nice work in GIMP, but I'm going with Photoshop CS2. Love it that u can start from an empty page and make the most crazy stuff with just the tools.

You should upgrade to the CS3 version of Photoshop. The new features are well worth it.
