No such thing as a free domain name and the uni.cc it is only an subdomain i would rather give 2.99 for a domain than be a sleve to someone who will one day steal my traffic (Microsoft)

there really isn't a good one you can get for free

you are better of just paying $5 dollars a month or something for a good one, than a crappy free one

both of just just redirect your site to a different place, it is not really a domain unless it a dns feature.

The microsoft route does give you a free domain for one year. However, you have to wait 60 days first and then transfer it. You may find somewhere that allows free transfers in and pop it across there, but most insist on you buying at least one more year (they add it on to the end of your current expiry, so still getting one for free).

I bought a domain through Yahoo ( a lot of people dismiss them, especially as thye use MelbourneIT i.e. the same as MS do) but I bought 10 years at $2.99 per year (yahoo have a promotion that the initial purchase is at $2.99, and renewals will be $9.99 (or whatever)), so cheap domain for the next 10 years after that I'll decide whether to transfer out then.
