it's really hard to make games with php
you better use something more
if you use pure php it has to submit to server
and wait for response, i mean you cannot create interactive games
use of flash with php is the best solution

There are php games about. If you know C++, it is recommended to utilise cgi rather than php. However php is good for people who have no knowledge of C++. It is not too hard to pick up.

I haved played a game called RPG World Online (http://www.rpgwo.com) its pretty good but the graphics arnt 3d like runespace its a RPG game but yeh it was created in Visual Basics i do not have a clue how it was hosted and all that but its a pretty good game so yeh if u want to make a basic RPG i go for visualbasics or flash
