I use a text editor (like notepad) to do most of my coding. I use Photoshop and Imageready to do new layouts, but that's rare. I prefer simple, image-light layouts to graphic-heavy ones that take 2hours to load, so I've done layouts using only CSS and/or tables.

Its very good to see how code would look if you changed it. I like to take the source code of another website, and copy it into that editor, then change it to see how it looks. Obviously its for learning purposes only, there's nothing else you could really do with it like that anyway.

well i suck at html so i use a program called WPM(web page maker) this is for little things and small sites because i generaly use php stuff.
