You have a point...except let's review history.
20th century: War: WWI and WWII
Poverty: The Great Depression & the 1980s recession
Disease: the 1914 **** pandemic
and when you go further back in history, it's all the same. There's always been death and suffering--just think of how many millions of peasants lived horrible lives in the Middle Ages! And there were always people who talked about how the world was worthles...maybe some looking on the bright side is in order.
