in my opinion the best program is photo design is photoshop

Photoshop is very easy for beginners and professionals , that's why i use it
Paint shop ( you can now find ver 10) is very powerful for professionals

My oppinion is Photoshop, but there is one downside to it, the cost is way to much for a kid to buy. So, with that said I think your next best choice would have to be The GIMP (The GNU Image Manipulation Program) It is very similar to Photoshop but without the downside! In other words, The GIMP is free!

In my opinion, I don't think many programs can really top Photoshop CS2. It's got every feature a web/graphic designer could possibly need or want. It even has the ability to create the HTML for you. Although, it's better to do that yourself... But I wouldn't use any other program after using Photoshop for so long. I'd be hard-pressed to find another program that is even close to as feature-rich and user friendly as Photoshop.
