Which c and c++ libraries do you know?
I use "Boost" and QTOpensource

yea boost i often used
further i use openssl pthread and zlib

zlib is a good library, often used.....

C++ is a programming language. Now most of the games are using it to program, but its not that easy to learn. If you are intersted, I recommend you to start learning Java (not Javascript, its different thing) and if you find it easy, then only you learn others.
