Gimp is an awesome program just like Photoshop, and its FREE!

yes, GIMP is a free and very good graphics software while Paint .Net is another challenger as well.

Just Get Demos, Demos Are Good. xD Paintshops Quite Good I HAve Full Ver Of That. PhotoFiltre Is Alright For Basic MS Paint Things But More High Tech

i haven't used gimp but i used paint.net for a while... i have photoshop and there's really not too many things missing from paint.net to justify the photoshop price... however the liquify filter is a great thing

as every one else said gimp is free or you can go to adobe.com go to download and dowload a trail withc is 30 days

well.. if you want to pay the money get something adobe makes, there good. but if you want something free (like me ) go get a copy of GIMP, its good , its free and makes good images.

I would personally recommend you to use GIMP:
For Linux
For Windows
and
For MACOSX
Anyway I think Photoshop is still the best but the Open Source wave can beat it(in the future).
