CGI scripts w/ PHP--help please!

Okay. So.
I'm trying to make a feedback form for my site. Not a guest book or anything, just a feedback form. The problem is I can't seem to get the hang of the CGI and PHP pages when using smokyhosts. I'm using the tutorial found here==> http://www.yourhtmlsource.com/cgi/processingforms.html. If someone could maybe give me a step-by-step runthrough of what to do with a smokyhosts account, that would be wonderful.
