I think people need to understand that Macs are not for the regular Joe. They are professionally developed computers which have the specific purpose of fulfilling specific market niches such as graphics design and movie production. Also, obviously price is going to go high as quality increases. PCs are for regular people and that is the reason why they have been exploited and there are a lot of viruses for them.
Getting back to the topic's subject, yes, Macs are better for graphics. But, I would say that Windows can reach the same potential but Microsoft has a bigger market which cannot pay as much for the operating system, for example: in India, China, Microsoft cannot sky-rocket their prices because people won't pay much for the legit operating systems.
