Motorola E815

I just got a Moto E815 and I'm very disappointed. You can't install any apps (at least I think so, somebody confirm)! And to get any images or videos on your phone at all, you need to have a transflash card - that is, unless you make a seem edit.

I was just wondering if anyone else here has an E815. :roll:

i'm seeing stuff about changing proxy servers to be able to download jar and jad files right onto the phone. has anyone tried this? does it work? cuz i dont wanna waste my time :P

i have a motorola e398 which ive done a few mods to. to get apps loaded you need to do a seem edit. the trick of course will be to find out which seem to edit.

you can go to http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/e815seem.html .. there a quite a few links there so maybe it might point you in the right place.. that is if you need to unlock that option.. you had to with my e398.

also get yourself a copy of a program called 'midway' for uploading the .jar files. its easy to find if you have limewire or somesuch p2p.

you are using a usb cable right? bluetooth wont work if thats what youve got. hope that helps.

pls explain more... midway does what?? and if i get midway, will i still have to make the seem edit?

what i meant to say was.. i don't have the same phone as you, but that i needed to edit a particular seem to unlock the 'app downloader' control in my phone. if your phone has this unlock by defalut, then you're laughing. but if you need to unlock it, then you will need to find a seem list for your phone that has the appropriate gear.

but anywho.. i had a bit of a hunt for you and it looks like some guys found a workaround of sorts:

maybe have a go at what they are saying.. they apparently only have to use mpt which you should have got with you phone and usb cable. if that is the case, then that is so much easier than editing seems thats for sure.. but id still look into ways of improving the phone. i upgraded the operating system on my phone and it runs so much better than when i first bought it. have fun ;D
