Problem with a bad CD-R

Umm, I need some help with a sich right here.

I rented and ripped a DVD to a 1CD avi. Burnt it to a CD-R. Now the CD-R's in a bad condition. I play the avi from the CD using Media Player Classic and it only shows half the length (about 1 hour). gSpot however, shows the full length. Is there any way I can recover the movie? Please help guys.

What if you take the video file off the CD to your HD?

You can use someting like IsoBuster (http://www.isobuster.com/) and try to extract the video from the CD.

my cdrw drive crashed "made a strange frightening noise
when i open my drive the cd-r in the drive was boken into small pieces now i can not work my drive please help

you're saying that it is showing only the half of the movie
i think it does not show only the part where some bad sectors
you can use different players
i often do so
i always try windows media player, light alloy and divx

Oh my god i had a simmilar experience but the cd wasnt broken but it kad a scratch soooooo deep that you could put a nickle trough it...

search for it by google you wil found qall its vergan
download it and use it
by it you can back your file
