Will Web Browsers Replace 'Office Applications'?

If these conditions are fulfilled, yes :

1.) No downtime
2.) Internet becomes MUCH more secure
3.) Internet and hard disk speed equals.

Interesting ideas. It wouldn't surprise me to see some of the above mentioned programs become Microsoft brands. It will be Microsoft ThinkFree Live or something, where they take a mature program, put it back in BETA and wreck it. Then start charging extortionate prices for it.

Where have we seen this before (HINT: Giant AntiSpyware -> Microsoft Antispyware BETA -> Windows Defender)

I believe Windows Defender will be part of OneCare which you have to pay a subscription for.
