I'm confused

Ok how do u make the home page of you site. when i type in my site name i go to a directory page where i see the files i loaded to my public_html folder...how do i make it go to an acutal page i can figure it out using any of the site editors fantisco has becasue it does it for me lol but not if i jsut make my own page. Sorry im such a noob haha.

You must upload whichever page you want to be shown, on typing your homepage url, into the public_html folder of your cpanel file area and that file must have the name index.htm or index.html or index.php or some file with name index and extention of a file format which either the server or the browser will recognize.

yeah thats what i thought i had typed the extension wrong by accedent lol thank you for the help
