My cPanel keeps emailing me telling me my version of phpBB is v0 and needs upgrading, but it is the latest version, anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Did you install it on your own or did you install it using Fantastico?

Try to take a backup of your current database (in case you already have some posts and members) and then delete and reinstall phpbb.

Or easier way round, try to install a second copy of it in some other directory and then post here if the issue still persists.

I went into Fantistico and went to the phpBB2 section but it only told me where it was installed, it didn't tell me which MySQL Database it was using

EDIT: I went into the database itself, and read the userlists, i found which one to backup, and I'll do that now

EDIT: Okay, I backed up the database, removed the forums, re-installed the forums, and restored the database, now I guess I'll just wait and hope it works

EDIT: Okay, I am still recieving this email

I starred out my email so I wouldn't be telling everyone

EDIT: Do you think that the version number is stored in the MySQL Database? If so then *gulp* I'll have to re-install the forum again, this time without backing up the MySQL database

You have answered your own question there :)

Yes, phpbb stores the version number in its database.
