I am using the dial up service offered by Sancharnet, a division of BSNL, Indias leading telecommunication company. The speed is 56Kbps. I'll be upgrading to Broadband within 3 Months.

I'm on a campus network with LAN speed up to 100mbps but I'm not sure how fast I connect to the internet. But pages load pretty fast for me. *shrug*

I have an ADSL connection the company claims the speed is 512/256kbps, but the speed detected on computer turned out to be 1024/480kbps. Strange.

[quote="wil"]I was just reading about a new broadband service being offered in the UK that gives users download speeds of up to 24 megabits per second, and upload speeds of up to 1.3 megabits per second. For £24 (US$ 43) a month. According to the info I read, that's a lot faster than other broadband services being offered by their competitors. I know it's a heluva lot faster than the broadband service I've got here in Australia.

I pay around AU$50 (US$38]

G'day Wil,

I am also in Australia, and I get 1.5mb/512kb for around $60
it's with Westnet Australia. you might want to try them out, they are very good.

Also, $50 for 256k is way too high. What state are you in and what Internet service provider are you using?
