Here I will show you how to get a FREE fully working domain name!
Only one thing is that you wont be able to have a favicon :o
O.K so lets get started!
First go to http://co.cc
Sign Up!
Next go to 'My Account':

**** on 'Edit'
Then you will be taken to a screen (pic below) and fill out the details like below:

You now have successfully added your OWN FREE DOMAIN NAME!
Note: It might take 3-48 hours to embed with your site...

Hi MrAlex,
Thank you for posting that great guide. However, please make a slight change to the nameservers....

It is not ns1.smokyhosts.com and ns2.smokyhosts.com
instead it should be...
ns1.smokyhosts.net and ns2.smokyhosts.net

**Notice .net instead of .com
