really go ahead and try out Traktor DJ Studio or Atomix Virtual DJ... traktor may seem a little complex at first but its not, and really..... i guarantee hours of entertainment, many many hours.

i've heard of it, left me sort of iritated.. Sony Acid Pro i think was the name. there is also Sony Vegas, which moreover can also be used for video. a great piece of software if you wish to get a sound clip from a movie to use on your music songs. the mother of music creation i think would have to be Reason. just 2gb minimum install. its sooo good.

peace.

Sony Acid Pro

I've used just about every media player there is out there. Windows Media and Sony Acid Pro alike. My personal preference is still Winamp Media Player Pro. It tends to eat up a bit of memory, but I enjoy how easy it is to customize it and the look of it.

for music management i would recommend mediamonkey, it has excellent organsiational features and allows for many options like scripts to adjust capitalizations in filenames.

However, it has poor audio quality as it uses the stock windows encoders. So for pure audio listening i would suggest quintessential media player, it uses very advanced encoders and is free as in beer.

for the linux side of things, you can't beat amarok, it is sensational to the power of infinity plus 1!
