I heard AMD heats up faster than Intel. Right now I'm on AMD.

i have an athlon xp... i regret buy it only for one reason.. overheating (and because of that, noise)....

this processors get to hot to fast, so they need heavy coolers, witch in most cases, translate on heavy noise...

the pentium counter part work at lower temps...

from what i have heard, usually amd is best for gaming and pentium for other kinda process... no idea way...

AMD makes great GPUs for the price. But the performance of their CPUs and the general architecture is really lacking quality and throughput. I've noticed spikes with even the most modern CPUs that AMD is pushing. I wouldn't pick Intel because it is the very king of the hill (which it seems to be). I pick Intel because there's really no other worthwhile competition to compare them with.

I've had both in the past, but currently have an Intel i5 which is more than capable of handling everything I use it for.
