i'm assuming a 100 dollor laptop must be broken, or a fisher-price laptop. lol.

Well, i heard that the Bill Gates foundation is doing this project, where they are offering little laptops for children, i think in africa, these laptop are made from plastique, and cost really cheap, so yeah it's possible, and please stop posting saying no it's impossible, we get the point, if anyone does it again, it will be considered spamming

Far be it from me to cast doubt about the philanthropic dreams of MIT http://laptop.media.mit.edu/ and others But in countries like Poland and Bulgaria $100 would represent the average monthly wage. In the poorer countries of Africa $100 would probably represent the annual cash turnover in a typical village. Wouldn't you think that aid money would be better spent on items such as water and food supply rather than expensive technology that just isn't needed. I just have to ask: What is the real agenda here Bill.

Opps sorry sorry sorry. This is supposed to be a hw discussion forum.
ooo err look at the pretty windup puter. see its pretty ears.
Of course 'they' can make a $100 laptop. 'they' already are. 'They' are
just selling them to us for $1000 or more.
If the laptops were made in africa they would be $5 laptops.
Even at that price very few africans would be buying them.
