Your Choice of E-Mail Serivce Provider

Post by Jason »

Who have you selected to be the provider of your e-mail?
...is it your own domain, Gmail, Yahoo!, Windows Live Hotmail (WLH), Lycos or even your ISP. Maybe you use more than one for different things?

I am curious because I want to see which is the most popular (and hope it isn't Gmail) and if I am the only one who uses different e-mails for difference occassions.

I personally use three of the ones I suggested.
  1. Yahoo! - I use this to sign up to most, mainly professional (if it's a tatty place but I still need to join I use a really old e-mail address), bulletin boards.
  2. WLH - I use this with my friends.
  3. ISP - I use my Internet Service Providers e-mail address for more formal things like: job applications, formal complaints and contacting companies.
The reason I use certain e-mail addresses with certain things is because I'm a neat freak and need everything organised. I want forum related stuff going one place and away from where my friends contact me. And I use my ISP for formal things because it's the most professional out of the three ('cause it's not a free account).

I have Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail and my own domain. Yes, each for different purposes. I use hotmail the most.

Gmail is definitely the best in line/category of email service providers.
