The storm hit cyclist on the second day =/

It is inevitable, and China knows it, it is August. I don't know about there, but here it is rainy season. We share the same timezone, so I think it shouldn't be too different. It is just that they do not have enough time or did not spend enough effort to remedy such situation IMHO.

How could they stop the storms? I just dont see how it's possible

You got a cool idea there Tails. But it is not stopping the storms..

You see, they have put in so much effort in the opening ceremony, even spent so much money building 2 for-olympics landmarks, not to mention the 'for the nation using whatever method possible' comment by the world-famous movie director.

That shows how much they want the world to look at them, 1/6 of the world's population is watching the opening, but only a tenth of that are watching the games. Can you see the link now? They cannot prevent the rain from happening, but they can prevent the rain from obstructing the whole project, but sadly they didn't.
