This is an awsome way to add tv scanlines effect to all your images. Try it =)
How To Create This Effect?
1. Create a new image with width = 1 and height = 1 (File -> New)
2. Zoom in on the image close as you can (1600%)
3. From the tool bar on the left, Select the pencil tool and then press the "D" to reset the colours
4. Draw one pixel on the bottom of the image like shown below:
5. Then **** on "Edit" and then "Define Pattern..."
6. Type the name as "Scanlines" and then **** "OK"
7. Now close this image you have been working with (Important - Do not close the photoshop software)
How to apply this effect to your images?
1. Open a image you want to add the scanlines effect to by pressing (Ctrl + O) or File -> Open
2. Create a new layer by pressing (Ctrl + Shift + N) and name it "Effect"
3. Now **** "Edit" and then "Fill"
4. On the option "Use" select "Pattern" from the drop down list
5. Then on the option "Custom Pattern:" **** on the little arow and a drop down list with available pattern will appear. From the list, **** on the patter that we created earlier which looks like this:
6. Then press the "OK" button.
You are done
Optional Effects you can add
1. Double **** on the layer "Effect" and a window will appear with lots of settings
2. Select the "Blending Mode:" as "Overlay" from the drop down list
3. Change the "Opacity" to "30%"
Now your image will look brighter with better looking scan lines.
