Macromedia Flash Tutorials Buttons

Post by asmail1 »

This will teach you how to make a rollover button for your website.

1. Start out with any canvas size. You will need 'matter' of some kind, that's either.. a picture, or some text. In this tutorial, we will just use text.

**** Insert > Convert to symbol - **** Button and **** OK

3. Now, double **** the button to take you to its UP, OVER, DOWN and HIT state.

4. On the timeline, right **** the white box under 'DOWN' and **** insert key frame. This is now a new graphic - The first time you try this, it would be best if you just altered the font colour to yellow or something.

5. Now, You need a DOWN state (which is what it looks like when you have your mouse held down on it) Again, right-**** in the little white box below DOWN and choose insert key frame. Now, you might want to change your font colour again.

That's it! You don't need to worry about the HIT state.
If you get a little stuck on what font colour to change it to, try changing the font... or... rotating it, maybe even changing the writing.
