I agree with Jeremy90 here - it is very plain. You may need some pictures and either get rid of that frame or make the border invisible. Are you new to web design? If you are then there are a few good sites that'll help you become an excelent web designer:

Ya, nicce idea. I, as a advanced programmer would create specified website for my subject, but for you as a novice in web development, i would suggest CMS (php-fusion would be the best, because it is easiest to admin).
But curently you site looks not good, realy needs more graphic, design. Site should be more attractive to user will back, because now i've saw you page and mmmm.... not good sorry.

List of most popular CMS'es (also possibility to test administration panel without worying to destry something) can be found here http://opensourcecms.com/ I suggest you php-fusion (easies, not very secure, but...., a lot of themes, modules)
