For a server environment, I definitely prefer to use CentOS or Red Hat Enterprise. For home use, XP or Knoppix.

You have to get the smokyhost reseller account to delete the DNS zone for the domain otherwise it wont work when you try to add it.

no the issue is hotmail, You would have to have them on your safelist. Hosts don't even bother trying to get hotmail to work, as their settings are so strict a normal email can barely avoid the junk box.

Look at the load of the server you are on, likely its really high and is limiting your performance. If its not the load, try resetting your internet connection.

I use dreamweaver for complex scripts as the visual part and coloring of the code do help a bit, however for basic scripts I've done a million times, I usually opt to use notepad or wordpad. For graphics I use photoshop or the gimp depending on what I want done.
