that's a really good one as it provides a debugger as well

books are good as well .
there are alot of java api's floating on the net i'm sure you can just find a lot of references and tutorials on the net

i don't think its really possible because the design is almost always been redeisgned and the form of the chipsize and voltage are constantly changing hence constant new boards.

i would recommend ocz ram as well, they have really low latency timing.

go nvidia the drivers are much better.
the ati catalyst driver really sucks for compatability

i've jumped back and forth between the amd's and the intel but performance wise i would say amd is slightly faster

the new vista looks really nice and it has alot of new features i really like the widgets as well but i wish they had the multiple desktops like linux.

one more additional note i just thought of.
is this a custom pc?
thermal paste is extremely important as well.
without proper thermal paste compound and a proper mount this may lead to this problem as well.

i really think it is worth it only if you know what your doing.
or willing to take time to learn.
