That is very technical for me, but i believe in "Do not open an email that you do not know where it come from", this safe you from a lot of trouble.

Have you check your directory/folder permission? Most FTP client support right **** and you should see the "File permission", you can change it there.

Nowadays most LCD TV support VGA or HDMI and so does most desktop and laptops, so there are no problem at all to use TV as a monitor.
